Rock crystal (also known as quartz, rocky quartz, or quartz crystal) is a transparent semi-precious gemstone with a clear glass-like appearance.
The beads used to make these earrings are mostly clear but as this is a natural material some may have tiny but visible inclusions within the stone. This is not considered to be a flaw.
One of the things I particularly like about this stone is that although it has the appearance of glass, the light moves through the crystal in a different way and seems to me to give the beads a bit more of a 'glow'.
