These silver studs were formed by hammering a small ball of silver into a mold. On any sort of commercial scale this sort of manufacturing would normally be done using a heavy hydraulic press, but all I have is a big hammer. I have to confess that I can't remember whether I used fine silver (.999) or sterling silver (.925) to make the leaf but it's likely to have been fine silver.
